With 18 race meetings scheduled annually, Muswellbrook Race Club has an excellent reputation with the support of many leading country, provincial and city trainers, who engage a number of high profile and accomplished jockeys.

Muswellbrook Race Club is located approximately 3 hours drive north of Sydney on the New England Highway in the Upper Hunter amongst the largest group of world class Thoroughbred Horse Studs in Australia including Coolmore, Darley, Arrowfield, Newgate and Vinery. Wineries and Mining are also significant in the resource rich shire of Muswellbrook.

The racecourse is located 2.5 kms west of the town centre just off Denman Road. The racecourse precinct is named Skellatar Park after the original estate that the track is situated when owned by the Bowman family from the late 1800's until the 1950's. With 5 tracks being utilised; course proper, B-grass, sand, cinders and dirt, it makes Muswellbrook Race Club one of the largest Regional Training Centres in Country NSW.

Beautifully manicured gardens and lovely shaded lawn areas are a feature of Muswellbrook's facilities. The RN Webber Racing Centre which houses the Silks Restaurant is very popular for Weddings, Birthdays and corporate functions as well as being used for members and sponsors on race days.

After many years of conducting the Muswellbrook Cup on Melbourne Cup Day, the local showcase race day now features in late March/Early April each year.
