The Kris Lees trained Its Lily has taken out an action packed HTBA Muswellbrook Cup (1500m) after surviving a protest from the runner up, the Bjorn Baker trained Starspangled Rodeo.
Aided by a great ride form Alysha Collett, Itz Lily had to check off heels multiple times from the wayward Petronius who continued to hang all down the straight.
Locally trained Sikandarabad was unlucky in finishing 4th after being one of the most inconvenienced from Petronius in the straight.
In other races, the Warren Gavenlock trained Plonka confirmed his place in the Country Championships final by winning the Newhaven Park Country Championships Wildcard. Second placed Rothenburg (Joe Cleary) claimed the last spot in the final after a tough on speed effort.
The Horsepower Skellatar Sprint (1000m) was won by the Wayne Seelin trained Invincible Kiss while the Cheryl Crockett trained Mackellar’s Love took out the BHP Wayne Harris Handicap (1280m).
